Marielle Abalo

Marielle’s interests focus on the intersections and relationship between human welfare and culture and surrounding ecological environments. She seeks to quantify marine mammal behavior while exploring the human dimensions of conservation. She has carried out field work for animal behavior and marine/coastal ecosystems in Latin America, where she focused on sea lion behavior and its accompanying anthropogenic relationships.

She looks forward to contributing to ASU’s effort to include a wider range of interdisciplinary work designed to tackle modern day complex conservation crises.
