Gustavo Leopoldo Garduño Ángeles

Gustavo Leopoldo Garduño Ángeles is a PhD student in Sustainability working with Charles Perrings. He has an MSc in Environmental Economics, from the University of York, UK, 2005-2006. His dissertation was on Growth and Sustainability: the Colorado River. Other degrees include DEA in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics, 2003-2004, University of Toulouse, France; MSc in Economics, 2000-2001, Universidad Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Spain; BA in Political Science, 1992-1996, Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), Mexico City; and BA in Economics, 1992-1996, Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), Mexico City.

His employment experience includes Assistant of Georgina Kessel in the Secretaria de Hacienda (Mexican Department of the Treasury), from 2001 to 2003; Research Assistant at ITAM, with the Professor Felix Velez, 1998-2000 ; and Research Assistant at Environment and Economic area at the Centro de Estudios Económicos, at El Colegio de México, 1996-1998.

He is a co-author of ‘Increasing returns to scale in the Mexican Manufacture’ with Alejandro Castaneda Sabido, El Trimestre Economico, Vol. 67, No. 266, 2000, pp 277-300. His research interests include water allocation, growth theory and environment, network economics and the valuation of non-marketed environmental resources.
